Mini Project NUmero 1!!!!!

(Conduct an Internet search to determine in which of the three environmental organization you wish to join. You need to analyze the mission of each organization, then state your reasons for joining a particular one.) Choices: Greenpeace, National Resource Defense Council and Wild Spots Foundation

and the winner is...GREENPEACE USA.

After researching and reviewing all the candidates, i found myself most intrigued by this particular organization. The web page and it's presentation is very appealing to young adults. After reading some of their articles and getting a pretty good picture of what is on their agenda, i find that these issues are very relevant to me and things that appeal to me. One example of this is their news story titled "Scandalous Whale Hunt Has Resumed". Whales are my favorite animal, and immediately after reading this i felt the an immense sense of frustration over the way that people abuse these animals and their habitat. They also have a campaign against kleenex and the ways that they attain their product by destroying beautiful ancient forests to make their DISPOSABLE tissues. In this particular campaign, they have asked people to use their creativity to send in photographs expressing their support for this cause, which definitely strikes a chord with me, because it encourages me to use my creativity for these causes. Yet another awesome thing this organization shares on their site is a quarterly " Guide to Greener Electronics" which shows you how certain large electronics companies are shaping their company to be more environmental friendly. This guide ranks the companies and allows you to see if the company that makes the products that you're paying for and utilizing actually care about making a positive impact in the world around them. This only proves my point that this organization is very culturally relevant, as well as effective. This organization has been around for over 30 years and is still going strong. They continue to stand by their belief that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things. They consider their cause a fight to save the world. Fighting against all sorts of global environmental problems such as nuclear testing, destruction of ancient forests, the deterioration of our oceans, and the threat of global warming, etc. The task of saving the world from all these enemies that have risen against it is certainly not an easy one, but it is a task that Greenpeace has taken head on, and they're not backing down, and that's an organization that i want to be a part of. I want to make a difference!
